Default Coryhopea Cutucu (Crths speciosa x Stan florida)

Here are the the flowers!

The natural beauty and weirdness of Stanhopea and its 'cousins' Coryanthes can not be overcome by any man-made hybrid, but I confess, this Coryhopea is among my favourite plants! I pic the buds, that looks like pupae of giant insects, and today, even in the rain, I catch the flowers (which as you all know last little). What animal resembles these flowers? Perhaps some "alien"?
I confess I was afraid about this spike, because I had lost the first of this year (due excess of humidity). I hope you enjoy!

Hi Frederico !

Congratulations! The flowers were beautiful. Is there any smell? I could not exactly feel.

Hi Akos!

The scent is soft, but I like it; its very sweet and fruity. Remember a ripe melon, but more sweet!

Hi Frederico !

I also remember the sweet-smelling, but the melon had not thought of. Thank you, happy growing!
