Catasetum Olga (galeritum X pileatum)
The first pix are todays, blooms are old pix. She's 29" and the pot is 6". Just started the spike. She's one of my favorites !

Merlyn - that is absolutely stunning and so much better than both parents. Have you ever had the opportunity to take it to judging? That is a highly awardable plant if ever I have seen.
I wasn't familiar with Ctsm galeritum, having researched it, I can't imagine why someone would chose to use it in a breeding program. Having seen your plant I now need to get a Ctsm galeritum to play with.
I have to admit I would never have expected the resulting flower from this unlikely cross.
I see you sending the AOS another $35.00 sometime soon. By the way, I clicked the like button only because there was no "LOVE" button.

No chance yet, Glen, but I'm biding my time ! BTW, I just googled galeritum today and the same thought crossed my mind, who would ever think to use THAT in breeding ? HaHa !

Another Very gorgeous one from Merlyn
How do you keep these mites off these buggers. I'm at war again second time this summer.Oils and soaps seem to help, but yet they still hang on eating away at the leaves. I'll be spraying again today -- I just hate these things
You're leaves are beautiful & lush

Gloria, if anything is, mites are my nemesis !!! I fight them continuously !!! I also use oils, soaps, alcohol, orange guard, bayer, malthion, and ovation !!! They ALWAYS show up at some time or other ! I win battles but not yet the war !
Keep fighting and persevering !!!

WOW! Looking at the whole plant, it is amazing...the spike comes out like a root and develops into a sturdy cluster of blooms...you got my attention on this
