Default Clowesetum "Janet"

First rebloom, I only have a couple out of the catasetum family, really didn't know if I could get a rebloom or not. This one went totally bare for 6 weeks and then popped, just before going into the trash.

Nice. Good thing you didn't toss it. Some of these guys can look really sad just before they do their thing.

negative vibes, funny you should say that in the early 80's I took a demo class at the UofM, where plants were being tested to someday be witnesses to crime.

The plants were hooked to a machine something like a lie detector test and the pulses coming from the plant being threaten and cut with a knife (wild) compared to the plant that had soft music being played for it. (calm) Was unbelieveable. Believe this or not,it is true.

They even showed a large increase in activity when the person who carried the knife was paraded in front of them, even tho he no longer had the knife. (there were four people in this parade by lineup) Someday the plant enviromnment which has witnessed a crime may be used as a real witness.

Really nice Carol, glad it "popped" for you. The great thing about the Clowesia flowers is that they are perfect in that they have both male and female reproductive parts, a trait that is carried thru to it's progeny, makes hybridizing Catasetinae a whole lot easier.

Thank you for those facts, I was unaware, I'm just glad I kept holding out waiting for it to begin leafing again.
