Pine Ridge Orchids came through for me. I got my package yesterday. I got a very nice Clowesia russelliana that has a spike with open flowers and a Cycnoches pentadactylon that has a spike with unopened buds. I also got a Catasetum pileatum ("Dinner Plate" X "SVO Independence"), a Cycnoches warscewiczii and a Catasetum denticulatum.

Since you're in Southern California, perhaps you could give Andy or Harry Philips, or Andy's Orchids, a call. I got my Clowesia rosea and Clowesia russelliana from them a number of years ago, and even though neither species is currently listed on their website, it wouldn't hurt to inquire. And Fred Clarke (as someone's already mentioned) is a good source too. He did have Clowesia rosea on his mailing list a couple of months ago, but they did sell out quickly. Good luck with your search.

Steve

Here are photos of the Cycnoches pentadactylon I got from Pine Ridge. When I got it in July a year ago it had a couple of buds but they blasted so these are the first flowers for me. They seem to be female.

The pentadactylon is in my solarium on a table where it gets direct mid-morning to mid-afternoon daylight (filtered through 16mm triple wall polycarbonate), in the early morning and late afternoon to evening that table also gets light from 140 watts of LED.

I noticed this morning that the flowers have a nice dry-spicy fragrance.
