Catasetum pest / condition - help
I have a tiny bumps appearing on leaves of my After Dark and a Donna Wise x Susan Fucks. There are also a couple of very small spots. The After Dark is starting to droop. I moved it to higher light and put it closer to a fan. So far my treatment has been a spray of Bayer 3 in 1. I know mites are usually the culprit, but I don't see progress. Any ideas? this is only my 2nd season growing these.
Your ideas are welcome!

Can you post a pic?
I know my Catasetums tend to get spider mites as it gets warmer. I start seeing a very fine web under the leaves, and that's when I know its time to break out the spray.

I had the same thing, bumps almost a bit like those you see on Peach Leaf curl and brown lesions on the leaf. I cut the leaves off for now. Looks fungal, and has been brought on by too much moisture and cold rainy weather (I had a friend water the greenhouse while I was on vacation and he overwatered). I don't know what it is though.

I'll wait to see your pictures before I comment. Also, if you could give us an idea of how and where you are growing them, it would help.

In a greenhouse, San Francisco Bay area.
Temps get down to 60•f up to 85.
Humidity 50-80%.
I'll post a pic from my phone tomorrow.

if you already see the web, then the infection is very advanced! The best is tostart as soon as you see the very first signs (or preventive treatments at the beginning ofthe growing season, if you know you always get mites on the plants!)

indeed, a photo would help a lot!
BTW, 60F can be a bittoo low for most Catasetinae when actively growing (during dormancie it isnot a problem at all)... They do best if kept above 68F all the time!

I'm new to this board, so pardon errors. I frequently use the help file to find out how to do things here. Attached should be a pic of the leaf with bumps.
I realize the web security is important and a double blind interface like this board is important, but I can send the attachment directly if you provide email.
Regards,
John
