what is the max spike/ bulb for a catasetum? - Orchid Board

ok, i got a dumb question here but i am curious.
usually i get about 2-3 spike per bulb for a catasetum but this time i encountered a fourth spike. anyone had any higher count than four?
the pic shows three of the previous spike, today i discovered a fourth emerging. thanks

Actually, the normal is 2 spikes... in exceptional cases you get 3 spikes... I had never seen 4 spikes!

confirm its the fourth spike, its getting longer by the day.
will post again if it decided to sprout the fifth spike ....LOL

ok, got the pic of the fourth spike, its facing the picture just beside the front spike. another two behind the pic

Would have to say that there really is no max amount of spikes or flowers an orchid can have, as I am most definitely sure that it the orchid cannot take it, it would not have done it. As long as you keep giving it the same culture, all four will give you some nice blooms. Any update pics?

here in the pic, 2 on the left of the pic is one the dry spike and another one with the heavy cargo; the seed pod.
towards the right of the PB alos is another old spike with one new emerging spike.
