Oh wow, that color is great! Im surprised that the eye spots are totally gone, especially with the wardii crossed back in.

Yes, it's odd. All which is left is intense orange colouration. Apart from the big flowers and large upper petals you don't see much influence of tigrina. The column looks like tigrina,while the hypochil and mesochil have the typical wardii shape.
It's a nice cross: I didn't expect it to turn out that well. |

I agree. Most Stanhopea crosses (IMHO) are not as nice as their parents, but the glowing orange with spots is truly fantastic! I wonder if any of this plant's sibs are similar or if you just happened to get lucky? |

Maybe I just got lucky: this one is a picture of another plant Essence of Stanhopea: Stanhopea Wardii x Assidensis - less intense colour; similar size and flowershape.
But there are lots of different forms of tigrina, which may make all the difference. |

Isurus: it get's even better. The plant is in flower now in its 4th day. This is the longest a Stanhopea has lasted for me, ever!
