catasetum seed pods question

i just recently pollinated a catasetum and two seed pods is forming. but in the same time i notice two spike is emerging as well, this plant had only one back bulb and a lead bulb. so i am a little bit worried that the plant cannot sustain all these flowering energy it gonna cost it. i had also read in the internet that some seed pods might drop off immaturely.
SO WHAT SHOULD I DO, SHOULD I JUST LEAVE IT OR SHOULD I KILL OFF THE TWO SPIKE?
REALLY APPRECIATE IF SOMEONE COULD DROP BY AND SHARE SOME OPINION HERE, THANK YOU VERY MUCH

I would let the spike and pods stay on the plant. Maybe just increase the watering and fertilizer schedule.

thank you very much, will do that. keeping my finger cross for the seed pods, will be my first cross for catasetums

What is your goal? Did you pollinate the plant for the experience or is the goal to propagate this plant for many seedlings.

I would not let a plant carry 2 seed pods and flowering spikes at the same time. Growing a seed pod consumes a huge amount of plant energy.

well, actually i pollinated this plant with the intention of propagating it for flasking experience and also with the intention to register this cross

sigh.... breaking the spike (dun have the heart to do it) but on the other hand it is not easy to get a male and female to bloom in the same time for small collector like me.

Thanks for the post my advise to you, if think your pod is of great value then conserve the pod, and if you leave pod, spike you would stress the plant.

well, seems like the council has spoken, off goes the spike.
sigh....just hope there is a easier way to do this, cutting one spike is miserable enough for me, now its two.
