Wow, Ramon, what beauties! A show this year in Baton Rouge, LA gave me my first glimpse of Ted Dragons, and it was a genuine thrill. The flowers have a very firm, velvety texture as well as deep color. Most alluring.
Now when will my Home Depot have these in $5 baggies?

Kavanaru - First let me say that I am so glad that this thread got bumped up, don't know how I missed it originally. I have seen tons of Ten Dragons and your 'Fledermaus Soriente' is the nicest one that I have ever seen. The color, form and the width of the laterals are all incredible. Love the name by the way, so fitting.

In regards to the link that you posted, yes the cross is very variable, but with the influence of the saccatum and fimbriatum in it's backround, the green progeny from this grex can't really be called alba, can they. I would think that more appropriately they would be called a green varient.

It reminds me of my Catasetum Louise Clarke (Catasetum Donna Wise X Catasetum Susan Fuchs), when I first saw the cross, I fell in love with it. I bought two seedlings, the first one bloomed out just as dark as could be and the second one came out all green. Since that time I have many more from the same grex and they have run the gambit of color combos.

Actually, IMO they can be called album. Alaba form in Catasetum is normally green/white. There very very few Catasetum species that produce white flowers.

I had expected a lot of variation from this cross, as well as from Louise Clarke (I have 3 plants ofthis and they are starting to produce spikes for the first time for me.... let's see) as they are quite complex hybrids... However, in the case of Ten Dragons I had expected to see mainly (if not only) dark flowers...
