Default Acineta superba

Got this labeled as Acineta beyrodtiana, but it is clearly superba. Has a sweet, syrupy fragrance.

Wow, that is really pretty, nice spot pattern and colour.

Really pretty blooms, and yes, it must be superba. I have beyrodtiana, and its flowers don't smell nice. Would you mind sharing your cultural practices for this species, please? Congratulations on the blooming. The flowers look great.

Looks great! I would also love to know what your cultural conditions are. I was not able to successfully grow this one in Hawaii and I was always at a loss the for the reason. I grew this one surrounded by other Stans that all grew like weeds.

Thanks for your comments!

Steve and Steve - I've been growing it in lower light than my Cattleyas near the floor of the greenhouse. Last year it got put in a wire basket with Osmunda and nothing else. It gets watered nearly every day with pH adjusted RO water and 50-100 ppm nitrogen. I use Cal-Mag plus.
