It is kind of funny but everyone has different "indestructible" plant because everyone's growing conditions are different. I kill every Phal i get and it is supposed to be "easy to grow" plant. Good thing that there are some other species that do well at my place
Good luck and remember to reduce overhead watering on your Stanhopea.
Patrick, all good advice. One of the lessons I learned, and I have a greenhouse, is not to buy new plants in the winter. For most plants the lack of sunlight and the short days in winter is quite stressful anyway. Changing their growing conditions on top of it, creates additional stress.
If you buy new plants in spring, they will have the whole summer to get used to your growing environment.
