Cycnoches are unique among orchids in that they bear separate male and female flowers with the occasional appearance of intermediate, hermaphroditic forms. The column structure is the surest method of determining the sex of flowers. The male column is long, curved, and thin. It bears the pollinia prominently at the tip.
The flowers are waxy, deep dark brown. Very unique

What a difference from S. FL to N. FL. I have had mine in dormancy for about a month now. I have two tiny little nodes starting to come out from the main bulb. Won't water until roots are about 4 in length. Great job!!

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems it would be abit late for this to be in bloom this time of year being that you live in Florida?

Mine Cyc. cooperi is also in bloom since december. It is not like i can do anything about it, right?

I don't know anymore when my orchids are supposed to flower with the passed couple of years they climate has changed so much that I think all my plants are 2-3 months out of time. But as long as they are happy, healthy and blooming I'm smiling
