This hybrid is a real gem! It's a cross between Cyc cooperi and Cyc herrenhusanum and I originally got it a few years ago from a local show. I was hoping for more flowers this year, but I think media is starting to break down. Oh well, next year!

Really cool looking blooms, Steve. I especially like the strange lip (though maybe it's only strange to me because I'm used to the chlorochilon and warscewiczii lips on cycnoches). Do the flowers have any fragrance?

That's some crazy looking flower!
Just beautiful the way the central anatomy arches and the color is very unique and attractive.
I will have to crack a book on this species though for sure!

Steve,
Yes, these flowers are much smaller than either chlorochilon or warscewiczii. They are pleasantly scented too!

This cross is great! I just wish the flowers weren't covered in ants that day! lol Oh well, I have another plant that is spiking with a much longer chain. Hopefully that one will be ant free!
