Mormodes Tuxtlensis coming out of dormancy
Default Mormodes Tuxtlensis coming out of dormancy

I have a Mormodes Tuxtlensis that is coming out of dormancy. I lightly watered it through the winter before reading they need a winter rest. Oh well...it's doing fine. There are new buds.

My question is that what I thought might be flower growth coming out of the end away from the base seems to be sending out new roots like a keiki.
I've attached a file taken with my phone to show the new growth with roots.

Since this is my first of this group, what are the next steps? I am watering and fertilizing more now that it is in an active growth stage.

Any tips?

Thanks
John / SF Bay Area

tuxtlensis will flower in winter. that is a keikei - leave it on for as long as possible, and then you can plant it in another pot.

Be easy on the watering until the second flush of roots comes.

Thanks, I have just started to water this week. I'll cut back then. I appreciate any tips on this category. I should be receiving a catasetum and a clowesia (sp?) this afternoon.
