Let me show you one of the newly discovered Galeandra, namely Galeandra schunkii.
The species is not registered yet at RHS but you can find its name at the International Plant Names Index site.
The plant was discovered by Vitorino P. Castro Neto and was found in Espírito Santo State of Brazil.
I recently bought my plant from Vitorino and now it's flowering for me for the very first time. Here it is, enjoy!

Awesome! I can't believe they are still finding new species in Espirito Santo. It seems like almost all of the Brazilian orchids come from this State!

Mine is in bloom too. I only have 3 buds though.

I thought it was mislabeled at first because the p-bulbs actually resemble a cyrtopodium much more than a galeandra.

Hi Gena,

Beautiful plant! His name was given in honor of Mr. Vital Schunk (known as "Nêgo" in the city of Marechal Floriano, Espírito Santo), owner of a commercial nursery and tireless researcher of new species in the 7% of native forest remaining in his state.

This post should be removed for "Cymbidium Alliance" because Galeandra belongs to the Tribe Cymbidieae (this Genus is not Catasetineae nor Stanhopeineae)
