Default Catasetum osculatum

Catasetum osculatum is a beautiful Brazilian species which was described by Kleber G. de Lacerda Jr. and Vitorino Paiva Castro Neto in 1995.
It is distributed in states of Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Rondônia.
Now the plant is flowering for the first time for me

Here is another one that I have been trying to find forever! I really think the modification of the lip to such a small opening is fascinating. Such a bizarre and unique genus!

It is indeed, Steve!

Of cause, I forgot to mention fragrance of that species ….. Quite strong and very fresh scent with predominant tone of eucalyptus oil.

This specie really has a strange shape that resembles to me some kind of tropical wasp, quite weird but nevertheless interesting and something to have in any way.
