Default Stanhopea Assidensis

This primary hybrid (man made - Stan tigrina x Stan wardii) is very common in collections (well, at least in collections of Stanhopea!). It looks like a Stan tigrina ( even in perfume) but doesn't have the globose hipochile.

That is a very neat and interesting flower. I really like it.

If you don't mind me saying it looks a lot like an alien .

Hi Steve,

They came from a lot of sources, but I bought the most of the "non-Brazilians" from Ecuagenera!
This Stan Assidensis, for example, came from the private collection of a deceased collector, his daughter had no interest in Stans and sold me.
