Thanks. The thought of new pseudobulbs is what I was leaning towards. The texture of the new growth seems more "leaf like" if that makes sense.
Now I have another question. Is it common for new bulbs to emerge from the sides instead of the top. Will this pattern of growth cause harm to the plant? Perhaps I should repot and try to reposition the bulb???
