Catasetum napoense

Does any of you here have a picture of this species or know what it look like?

just curious... it is a less known species from Ecuador/Peru... I have not been able to find more information that the already given here... and that it was quite expensive at Ecuagenera (compared to other Catasetum)... I sent a message to tehm asking for more info, but no reply yet..

Ramón, is there no info about it in Holst's book? I think, there is, if I remember correctly .... I will check later on ....
Otherwise there are some very short descriptions in University of Florida Herbarium Collections Catalog as that:

No photo on Orchidwiz, but there is a detailed decription of the blooms:

"FLOWERS: Up to 17 per male inflorescence. The flowers have sepals and petals that are red at the base and dull yellow-green at the apex. The lip is red at the base and along the margins, the sac is yellow-green. The calli at the base and apex of the lip are yellow with dark spotting. In their natural position the flowers are about 4,5cm by 5cm. The dorsal and lateral sepals are concave, sharply pointed and 3cm long by 0,9cm wide. Petals are convex, sharply pointed and 3cm long by 0,9cm wide. The lip, which is held lowermost, is concave. The apex of the midlobe is triangular with a 3-lobbed callus. The margins of the apex are fringed, while the margins of the basal part of the lip toothed."

Yes, Ramón, it is there, on page 190 - very good description and there is a picture there as well, plate 52.

Hi Jena and Camille, thanks a lot for the info!

now I must admit I feel a bit stupid... I have Holst's book, and it was the first place I checked for some information. I could not find it in the text, and therefore did not check the plates... After your message (Gena), I checked again, and no text, but the photo on plate 52 is indeed there (very nice Cstm ) it was weird... so, I checked again.. nope nothing there... and then I realized my copy of the book is missing pages 189 - 190, and it goes from Ctsm moorei to Ctsm naso
