Default Mormodes flactifoxaignea

Does anybody here have information about this species? Where does it comes from, culture, etc?

I was offered this species (Mormodes flactifoxaignea) but cannot find any information about it... I must admit it is the first time I heard about it. Even pictures are not very common in the web. This is the only one I have been able to find: Pine Ridge Orchids - Photos - Catasetinae species

Yes, I could not resist that picture the plant should be here in one week the latest

I'm guessing its going to be Mormodes fractiflexa. I bought one from them, it should bloom this year, so I'll let you know when it does.

Ramón, I think Aceetobe is right! For me it looks like they wrote the name of the species wrongly! Despite it they put together two different things ... flactifoxa (here is wrong spelling) and ignea .... take a look at Woodstream Orchids
- they did use ignea as a synonym in their catalogue Woodstream Orchids .
Correct spelling is Mormodes fractiflexa. Compare the pics with pictures here Botanical Garden Munich - Dr. Gerlach - The Subtribe Catasetinae - RBO

well, in between I received a message from Dr. Gerardoo Salazar. He thinks this is actually Mormodes punctata, which is closely related to Mormodes ignea (Syn. Mormodes fractiflexa). He also added that he keeps Mormodes punctata as a separate species from Mormodes ignea in his work about Mormodes in the "Flora Mesoamericana", because it is the only Mormodes in the "ignea complex" with a trapezoid labellum

If we think a bit further, and keeping some pronunciation and spelling misunderstandings in mind, the we come easily to Mormodes flactifoxaignea... Mormodes fractiflexa syn. ignea ...Mormodes fractiflexa ignea... Mormodes flactifoxa ignea... Mormodes flactifoxaignea (New species :-))

so, I will follow his advice.. Mormodes punctata Rolfe
