Default Catasetum integerrimum

One of my favorite Catasetums, and it blooms like crazy every year. It currently has 4 spikes, but it usually puts out a new one as the first spike finishes.....so we'll see what we end up with. I think this one has a dark, "grim reaper" look to it.

Jasen, those are 'female' flowers, aren't they? Does it always put out female flowers? Very nice. Thank you for sharing.

I believe this is the male flowers, I know it ejects pollinia if you touch it. So far, this is the only sex I have seen on this plant. I even tried giving it more light this year, but nothing changed. Im sure Ramon, Bruno, or Jan Pahl can tell you for sure...I'm pretty sure it's male, though.

very nicely grown plant and always a very interesting species...

Jan has explainned very well the differences betwen male and female flowers... In this case, those are typical male flowers for this species.

Me too, this is one of my favorites....it looks like a bunch of the "Desert People" from Star Wars.
