These really do look like space invaders! I was wondering, how big are the bulbs when this one first blooms? I have a plant I brought back as a tiny seedling a few years back from the dry forest of Panama and I think it might be this species (not sure though), so I'm wondering if I might get lucky with blooms this year.

Steve, the PB of mine is only 4 inches in height now. As I know adult plants have PB approximately 7-10 inches or somewhere there.

Oh, I forgot to mention, that I simply love this fragrance – there are lot of notes in it which remind me of a mixture of pine needles, eucalyptus and wintergreen ….. very fresh one!

i know this is a very old threat but i bump across this photo while i was google-ing for pics of catasetum viridiflavum.
the pics above looks somehow more to catasetum integerrimum than viridiflavum.
a viridiflavum lip is more towards globous with a conical cap while integerrimum lip is conical. and also the lip orifice of viridiflavum is not a perfect round circle with small teeth structure on the lip near the column region while integerrmum is round and without teeth on its border.
i hereby attach two pics from the net for comparison. would like to hear opinions from you guys about this one. thanks
