It funny you say that. At one time, not long ago I thought all Stans and Catasetums were simply hideous monstrosities that did not belong in the Orchid group. Then I bought a Cycnoches and it was all over. For some reason, if you like one group, you are naturally drawn to the other. GORGEOUS! You're so right, you try one and in no time, you're hooked. I've been surveying my growing area, trying to make room for additional Stanhopeas that are now on my "must have" list (only have the wardii so far).

The scent is really nice!! Its like a spicy hot sugar smell with some hot cinnamon (like the heart candies that people eat on Valentine's Day) mixed in. Delicious!
