noid stan.
I dont think it is oculata . The hypochyle is the wrong shape. It has some simularity to both jenischiana and embreei.

Chumy,
Definitely it is not an oculata nor a gibbosa; take care when searching web sites, almost 100% are not updated about the changing names of the former impressa (now gibbosa) and the new name of the former gibbosa (now confusa). In the IOSPE when you search for gibbosa you will find Stan confusa ( IOSPE PHOTOS). Stan gibbosa is here ( IOSPE PHOTOS) and here ( impressa2), wrong named as "impressa" (nomen nudun)
I agree with Gwallogwyn, your Stan is probably a jenischiana (look at jenischiana3 and forget about color or eye-spots; watch in the shape of the lip - the lip is almost identical to your Stan)

Thank you very much for ur input Gwallogwyn & Frdemetr.
Its mucho confuso , so the name has to do more with the form of the flower than with the color? Because the the color resembles the Confusa but the form indeed resembles the Jenischiana. The flowers opened this morning and i know the colors change as the flowers mature. It's ok because i did have the Jenischiana on my list to buy next month so that is not bad.
Thanks again

Yes, Chumy!
The form is what matters in Stans, basically because the initial descriptions were made of dried herbarium specimens, and not in living flowers! In dried flowers (or preserved as "pickles") the colors and the smell disappear, leaving only the form!
When you will look a Stan flower, try to ignore colors, eye-spots etc. and just watch the form (especially the lip).

Check out this page:
Stanhopea candida Barb. Rodr. 1877; updated July 2007
Here's another bit of info from AQ Plus - Stan. candida 'Crownfox Snow' CHM/AOS (81 points) an award from 1997. Description: Three well-arranged flowers on one inflorescence and three buds on a second inflorescence; flowers pure matte white with minute brown hairs on back of sepals; petals reflexed behind dorsal sepal; mesochil with broad green stripe down center leading to pollinia, hypochil glossy, waxy white.
Where did you get your plant? The tag says it's candida - could this be a new color form?

The names of stanhopeas like all other orchids come from many things. They can describe some aspect of the orchid like Stan. platyceras which refers to Platy for flat and ceras which means horn. It can also come from the collectors name or place it was collected like stan. napoensis which was found in the napo region of Equador.
The most important thing in IDing stanhopeas is the morphology of the lip. The shape, size and proportions of all its parts are what's important. This is a illustration of the parts.

Good photos are important. Side views and 3/4 frontal view. It is impossible to get every thing in a photo so pickled flowers are sometimes used. I keep metal casts of many of my stanhopes to help identify them later since the flowers only last about 3 days.

First: Gwallogwyn ur Stan collection ROCKS, the pics in ur gallery are amazing. Now that i managed to bloom this one and rebloom the Insignis I ordered 3 more, to start.
After applying all the new stuff i learned i still have to go with the Jenischiana.
I included a new pic with a better clearer view of the taxonomy. There are 8 small sized flowers on the inflorescence maybe this will narrow the options down.
CNEOS: the tag says that it is a Candida but the form absolutly doesn't resemble that of the Candida.
Thank you very much for ur help.
