Stanhopea inodora
I've had this one for several years and it is a regular bloomer for me, but this one caught me by surprise this year! I know that I checked on it one day and nothing and the next day or so, there were to hanging groups, right out of no where!

Nice job Laura, and a nice surprise. Can you detect a fragrance on these? I had read some time ago that inodora was a misnomer since the flowers are indeed fragrant.
Cheers,
K

Hi Laura!
Congrats, nice Stan! Stan inodora is now Stan ruckeri (see at Ruckeri ). The name change occurs because J. Lindley put two different names (Stan inodora and Stan ruckeri) in the same species; the older name (ruckeri) prevails.

Fred, I did not know this about inodora/ruckeri. Thanks for the info!

It does have a sweet scent to it, so is certainly mis-named!
These always remind me of the hood ornament on a Rolls Royce!
I have 4 stans, actually a few more than that, but the others are duplicates!
