Deliciously perfumed flowers!
I had four spikes and made myself the favor of breaking three off the plant while taking it from the hanging position it was (there were other plants hanging close to it and I didn't notice that three spikes hooked on them!!). Things like that really make me

Too bad about the broken spikes Mauro. But she'a a beaut!! Think I might have to put Gongora's on my wish list. Such neat flowers!

I agree. Those are fantastic blooms, Mauro. I really want to get a gongora species, but need to make sure that it can handle cool to intermediate winter temperatures. From what I've read, it seems like the majority of gongoras like year-round warmth. But if I'm lucky, there's got to be at least one member of the genus that's somewhat adaptable to wide fluctuations in temperatures. Congratulations on your wonderful flowers.

Yes, Gongoras are said to be warm to hot growers. But, it is true that at least some of them, like mine and also Gongora quinquenervis and bufonia stand well three or four months of cool temps (like our winters here, when temps often fall as down as 37-38ºF at night). Can't be positve about that, Steve, but apparently Gongora odoratissima is a warm to cool tolerant species too. Maybe you'd like giving one of these a try?
