First of all, welcome to OB jessetukkers!!

I'm having a bit of trouble understanding what you are asking. And who is the 'he' you refer to in the second sentence? If you are looking for specific orchids, there are many good orchid sources here in Europe, depending on what you are looking for.

But if you really want orchids from elsewhere, it's possible with some vendors, you just need to get all th Cites and phytosanitary certificates, which can be expensive.

More details would be helpful to understand what you want!

I agree with Camille, if you provide more details of what you are looking for, it is easier to provide you with more exact information.

On the other hand, as Camille said, you would need to buy CITES and Phytosanitary certificates, even for a single plant. This is what would be make your order more expensive...

Except for very especial cases, you can find most plant (especies!) in Europe, and also a great variety of hybrids.

Please note that you also has have several species and hybrids which you can buy in Europe, which are not available in the USA...

hhhmmm... I just realized you posted this in the Catasetum alliance...

I can tell you this is a very special case... and understand better your needs.. catasetinae are not as popular in Europe as they are in the USA or in Japan... however, you can also find some nice plants here too...

If you are looking for something very especial as Fredclarckeara... well... that's a bit more difficult... Fred Clarck do not send overseas yet (he said he would have CITES late this year!!)

Is that what you are looking for? I can give you also some links where tocheck for other Catasetinae in Europe (these are also my favorite orchids)

that's what I assumed after watching your pictures...

there I can only suggest you to contact Azienda Agricola Nardotto e Capello in Italy... they have nice plants, but you would need to ask directly for plants not in the catalogue...

same for Accueil la cour des orchidées

Jesse,

I think you would like this info, as they have some interesting Stanhopeas there... :

"To all our EU customers:

Once again, I am planning a trip to the EU this coming spring, in mid-May 2009. I will bring plants with me as luggage, rather than being shipped separately ahead, and will ship them to your country upon my arrival, as soon as possible, so there are no delays.

When placing your order via our website, please select plants that are noted “CITES-approved for export.” The deadline for placing orders is March 23, 2009. Once orders are reviewed and finalized, payment must be made in full no later than April 1. Please note: No changes can be made to orders after March 23, as we must begin preparing the required documents. It will take several weeks to process all the paperwork for a May departure.

Payment must be made in US dollars via credit card (American Express, Visa, MasterCard or Discover) or PayPal. If you wish to pay by wire transfer, please include an additional $30 to cover the bank transfer fees. Please contact us for bank account details.

We require a minimum order of US$100 per customer. An additional 15% will be added to your order to cover document processing fees (CITES permits, import permit, phytosanitary certificate) and excess baggage fees. (Note: extra large plants may require extra baggage fees due to the size and weight limit on check-in luggage.)

Within the EU, we will ship via the postal service – airmail when possible – as this is the most economical. FedEx rates are much higher, however, some shipments may have to go by FedEx or other carrier if your order requires larger boxes that cannot be shipped by regular postal service. Packing and shipping charges will be billed to you when we return to the US.

If the plants you receive do not do well in the first 2-3 weeks, please notify us and send pictures by email, if possible. I assure you that we will replace those plants on one of our next visits.

If you have any questions, please email us at orchids@orchidweb.com. Thank you.

Jerry Fischer
