Default Catasetum Rebecca Northen Pink More ?s

I posted a month or so ago about this plant. I thought it was starting to grow two new growths because I saw two little nubbins starting. I determined they were growths because they were growing roots. Now, they look like they must be flower spikes starting, I mean they have to be! They are somewhat pinkish/reddish and are getting longer, but staying skinny. They have distinct buds starting. I just can't imagine why they would also be growing roots, or is the pbulb just growing them? The pbulb is mature, and lost all it's leaves and there is only one other pbulb in the pot. The others all rotted. The other pbulb never really matured so it is tiny, but lost it's leaves.

So, the question is, should I water or not? The plant is in a mix of lava and charcoal because i am a heavy waterer. The roots are about 1inch long now. Any ideas? It is just so bizarre that the pbulb lost its leaves and matured, but is still producing roots? Help!!!

I will also try to get pics tonight to post.

Of course, now my camera is acting up. I will have to borrow a friends to get the pics. I am dead sure they are flower spikes though. It is just bizarre. I will get on the pics and put them on here ASAP.

Approximately 50% of my Clowesia crosses will spike like this. It is nothing out of the ordinary. The spikes come from eyes, and will start looking like new growths, spit out roots and then a spike from the top of the growth.

So what does that mean for watering? Should I still wait for the roots to get longer, or can I start watering? The plant is down to only two pbulbs so I don't want to risk losing them. If it is between plant or spikes, I choose plant!
