Default Catasetum expansa

This is a first bloom for selfing of the 'Natural World' HCC/AOS variety. I have no idea what the parent(s) look like, but I can show you an example of the offspring! I have to say that these flowers are nothing special, but I hoping on the next bloom the red splotches on the petals get to be a little more intense. We shall see. Anywho, enjoy!

P.S. The scent is a very pleasant, kind of like the smell of mint flavored dental floss.

P.P.S. I almost forgot to mention this is the freebie that TOF has been throwing in for free with their orders lately. FYI.

It's Tropical Orchid Farm...they have some really nice stuff at reasonable prices. I haven't ordered from them yet but I certainly will at some point

Kind of scary looking, but fun. I'd be careful around that gaping red mouth, or whatever it is.

It looks like an alien stirring some kind of stew pot. Thanks Susanne.

Gorgeous, Steve! I'm waiting for an order right now - maybe I'll get a surprise too.
