Default Catasetinae - Catasetum Dapper Dots

Here are some photos of a Catasetum that have been posted on Flikr and also on kavanaru's photo pool. These pictures include pictures of both male and female flowers.

Hi Ron;

Quite a bit different than my Dapper Dots
Mine looks more like the first picture of the attached link - if the link works.

That is an amazing flower.
I love the dots on the petals and the color and form seemed like it was sculpted in glazed clay....

Interesting I had missed this post from 2009... I just found it by chance as I was googling for this hybrid, as we were discussing one - again totally different to both plants shown here...

First, this has been posted in my photo pool!? Really? Which photo pool?

Now, back to the hybrid, it seems to have a lot of variation in it and some plants have resupinate flowers while others don't... As well some have wider lip than others...

In any case, a verry nice hybrid!

Bernie, I do not have this hybrid... And now I have to laugh... I was going to send you to facebook, and just realized it is your plant the one we were discussing... But the one in faebook looks so diffrent to the one in your link here.. Is it the same plant?

Hi Ramon;
I wasn't able to attach a photo so I attached the jumbo photo as a reference photo. The orginal photo linked to the orginal post has a very heavy sanguineum influence. Both varieties are quite interesting and there has been many colour varieties as well, mine being a very light lime colour with spotting only on the top half.

If those are the same hybrids, then there is a ton of difference between them! Amazing.

Apparently the sanguineum carried forward very strongly in some of the offspring. The lip on mine is very very thick (thickest of any of the plants I own).
