stanhopeas in winter

Am curious about water too. My Stan. platyceras doesnt have new growth but is sending out a new spike.
Does that count as a growth? Wish it were big enough to divide so I could experiment and find the best culture on differant pieces. Have to have patience and not rush things i guess. Does anyone have Stan. Bird of Prey?

In winter I water my stans about twice a week. They hang indoors in 6" - 8" baskets in my southern window. I thought they might not be getting enough humidity, so I added an indoor water fountain to my home in the growing area. It raised the humidity from about 35% to 45%. I was worried still too little, but they are doing well.

That's kind of weird. I've got 3 Stanhopeas (wardii, jenishiana and tigrina) as well as Gongora tricolor and they seem to be growing now throughout the winter. Maybe it's that my winters are not as cold and they seem to be liking it.

Mine are the same way. They tend to go 'dormant' (very breifly) for in the spring, say around March. Yours might be different but I would start looking for this stage after their current growths are done.
