Default Stanhopea ruckeri (former Stan inodora)

This one I bought as a "Stan wardii v. aurea", but unfortunately there is not such Stan; The "Stan wardii aurea" in the Barney Greer's book is in fact a Stan graveolens, and mine is a Stan ruckeri (thanks, Manfred!). According to G Gerlach, John Lindley named the same plant twice, as Stan ruckeri and Stan inodora. The first name is the only valid now; and it's fine, 'cause "inodora" is a very inappropriate name to this Stan, that has a VERY STRONG perfume

Another great one with no eyes. You must have a thing for blind Stans!!

Neat one, Frederico. What is the 'inodora' like?

Hi Rolando!

I saw your post! Your 4 Stans are a very good choice (oculata is my favourite, 'cause it is an easy grower, easy bloomer and have a delicious chocolate/vanilla perfume!), but if you love strong scented flowers, consider Stan ruckeri! (you will find this plant probably under the former name, 'Stan inodora', but this older name is completely 'nonsense', 'cause 'inodora' means 'scentless'!)
