Galeandra Macroplectra and Mormodes Buccinator
Default Galeandra Macroplectra and Mormodes Buccinator

During this week I got my first galeandra blooming. I bought it early this year and at that time I did not know what kind of galeandra it was. The plant was not very healthy when I acquire it, but I took very much care of it and finally grew strong enough to give me at least three nice flowers. I found out that it is a macroplectra and it is only found in the rainy forests of southern Venezuela. Also I am showing a picture of another mormodes buccinator (var. Aureum), which is giving my a second bloom this year, it may not be very outstanding blooming but the yellow color of these few flowers are very nice. I hope you gays enjoy these pictures as well as me.

Those are fantastic, Bruno! I too really like the Galeandras. Haven't acquired any yet, because my space doesn't quite permit their height. But they're really sweet blooms. And you are right, the yellow on your Mormodes is wonderful! Nice work!

I've never seen that aureum form of the Mormodes before. Fantastically colored.
