yes... and I think I finally managed to get one in Europe late this summer... it has not bloomed yet as the plant is a bit young, but I have seen pictures of another plant bought under the same name from the same nursery, and WOW WOW WOW exactly as I reember the first 'Pierre Couret', which, by the way, was imported to France, "cloned" there, and distributed for the rest of the world... Funny thing is that this plant is quite difficult to get in Europe (I have the feeling Catasetinae are not quite popular here), and also many of the plants normally seen sold as 'Pierre Couret' are actually anything wth some red in it...

No doubts this plant is really spectacular, it is hard to find a color combination like this. Ramon gave a very good explanation about the complex hibridization process of this plant in its natural environment, the only opinion that I have regarding this one is that the blooming spike is very short and quite erect, that makes me think that it may have some others genes in it (I may be wrong). The pilaetums that I have seen they have a long falling spike and flowers regularly spaced along of it. Again is just a speculative observation.

Nevertheless I have to quote that Alexis Pardo, in his article "El Género Catasetum en Venezuela" (Orquideophilo vol8, Nº2 Page 8) show a photo that is exactly a mirror image of your pileatum..... and Alexis call it pileatum and not some sort of pileatum with expansum or who-knows-what genes on it.

Thank you for the message, you right about pileatum 'shfina' did came from Alexis, then to my friend who presently own the plant and my friend to me.
I have done sib cross of this plant with my other catsm.pileatum (A X P), also from Alexis Pardo.
I have seven seedlings, three seedlings have given flowers for me,they are quite lovely.
I would post all the images some time soon.
