(Gulp) Lose the new growth?!?! I agree though, better the growth then the whole plant!

Believe me when I say that that's the right attitude. I lost a few plants hoping that the rot would not continue even though a very tiny amount of infected flesh was still attached. Now i prefer a healthy backbulb over an infected new growth (but if i can save it for sure i will).

Well, the only way to know for sure it to try hacking into it again and see. I needed to get back at it to repot it anyway and trim out the old dead roots. There is alot of old mix stuck in that mess of roots. I will just trim back further and see what happens. That bulb was really gross though...a bit stinky too. The bugs were really loving it!
