Watering Dilemma

I have a division of Ctsm. Frilly Doris. Total of about 5 or 6 good sized pseudobulbs. I've grown a fair number of orchids successfully but this is my first experience with Catasetums. My dilemma is this: It has one new growth that is now about 5 inches tall (I know it's not time to water yet...) with roots about 2.5 inches long. It also has a new growth that's only about 1 inch and another that is just starting...I repotted into sphagnum moss when the first new growth started. The smaller growths seem to be putting out fairly prolific roots but they are still short < 1 inch. Expert opinion says to start watering when the new roots are about 5+ inches or larger...but what do you do when there are multiple growths of much different sizes? Will the smaller growths shrug it off and continue if I water when the largest new growth is ready or should I wait until the smallest is of proper size...I'd hate to lose the large first growth but also don't want to abort the smaller ones either. They get about 15 DLI of light from full spectrum LED's, 65% humidity and 78F consistently.

The largest new growth is the only one that matters. Other growths are icing on the cake. So, if you can withhold watering until the new roots of the youngest growths are 4", then do it! However, if the plant is really getting thin and it looks like a few more weeks of no water will kill the plant, then water it when the oldest new growth is ready.
