Some people keep their plants slightly moist all throughout dormancy. Depends on your temps. There is no one size fits all. I've got 3 clones of Rebecca Northen and two of them bloom fine being completely dry, but all but one bud has blasted two years in a row on 'Mikabi' . No idea why but next year you better believe I will be giving it a bit of water while it's budding up and will stop water only after all buds have bloomed out (or dropped off again).
