Ctsm. Norm Tupper, Francisco Berrios Gines

coincidentally enough my last two catasetums to bloom were both Portagee Star hybrids.

First set of pics are Ctsm. Norm Tupper (Portagee Star 'Brian Lawson's Sunrise' HCC/AOS x tiginum 'Wyche' HCC/AOS). Wonderful mini-catasetum, although the flowers are definitely not mini! Only a faint "dusty" fragrance so far. 21 flowers on one spike, 18 buds coming along from another growth.

Second set is Ctsm. Francisco Berrios Gines (Portagee Star ‘Brian Lawson’s Sunrise’ HCC/AOS x Dentigrianum ‘SVO Excellence’). First bloom. The flowers spent so long in the 'cracked open bud' phase that I thought there might have been some genetic issue...but in the end all I needed was some patience which is of course in short supply.
