Default Cycnoches Cooperi

I received a new Cycnoches Cooperi today. It is about 1ft tall and came in the pot you see. There are 2 spikes forming as well. I have all of my other catesetum-type orchids potted PET style.

Is this one too far along to repot at this time? If so, I'll leave it in its original pot and create a water well using the short glass container, correct? Should I then place it outside or keep it in my grow cabinet under lights? Any advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated

I wouldnt repot. Repotting would jeapordize the flowering, and since the plant has very little growing left to do this year there really isnt a good reason not to wait.

Repotting now would not only jeapodize the flowering, root disturbance now could be deadly. Wait until it goes dormant in the fall. These don't mind being rootbound, but hate having their roots disturbed during the growing season. It is fine outside until nights get down to around 55 deg F.

agree with everything said thus far. If you really must move it, you can probably "up-pot" safely if you don't disturb the existing roots. But probably safer to leave it alone.

Good looking cooperi. all of mine woke up late this year.
