Catamodes Dragon's Blood
Default Catamodes Dragon's Blood

Ctmds. Dragons Glade 'Golden Scales' x Ctsm. Susan Fuchs 'Burgundy Chips' FCC/AOS, SVO 10016

I got this as a 4" freebie with an order last year (thanks Fred) and this is my first blooming. Actual color is more dark blood red as opposed to deep mahogany. Mild fragrance. Super vigorous - another spike has already started!

Also I had credit with the RHS for a grex, and Fred asked me to name it, so Dragon's Blood it is!

thanks Roberta, mine have been generally ahead of schedule - with the warmer basement greenhouse temps they pretty much all woke up earlier than "usual". I have one of my mature Darkoniums about ready to open, and a few of last year's 3" ctmds seedlings are spiking up. I suspect the additional shot of catasetum moves up these third gen ctmds bloom season...

This is really nice (as I mentioned on your FB post)! I hope you get to have it judged one of these days.

Thanks Stephen! This one opened up a few days after my recent trip to the judging center, so we'll see how the new (2nd) spike looks. Always hard to time these!
