Is it unwise to buy a bare root bulb in June?

I've never owned a catasetum before, so I was thinking that I would try picking up a Clowesia Rebecca Northen at my local orchid show in June. The vendor imports them bare root though, so I'm concerned that in June the plant will be left without any roots before dormancy. Will the bare bulbs be alright until next spring?

They'll probably be coming from the northern hemisphere. The vendor, Magic Oasis Orchid club, is based in Taiwan I think, but they're more of a middle man.

Sorry, I'm not sure if they'll have foliage.
