Default Stanhopea connata

The colors on this one are wonderful. But it's one foul-smelling flower. I work in a hospital, and I have a very strong stomach for horrendous smells. But this one is truly in a league of its own. I walked into the sun room this morning and it smelled like a public restroom in the middle of a hot summer day. I might give it to my mother-in-law.

Put some oil of wintergreen on your mask.

The third photo looks like a little fairy crouching, which doesn't exactly match the nasty smell it's giving off lol

Maybe it's crouching to do something stinky.

Oh wow! Such a beautiful flower, too. If you know any fans of the fouler Bulbophyllums....

Thanks, everyone, for your comments. I definitely need to find this one a new home. My dog will be the only member of the household who will miss it. He's been trotting out to the sunroom every time I open the door, with the same enthusiasm I show whenever I find a good French pastry shop.

Surprising to me that a Stanhopea could smell that bad. I have a few and all are fragrant, but mostly pleasant. S. ecornuta is a bit much if you get your nose right up to it, with the smell reminding me of pine scented cleaner.

Thumbs up

I would have just Bulbos and Stans if it were up to me. Fragrance is irrelevant.
