Ctsm. ivanae hybrid pushing new fall growth

Two of my seedlings from this summer’s SVO release succumbed to damping off after an untimely night-time spider mite treatment. I unpotted them, cut away the rotten bulb, soaked in Physan, repotted into Physan soaked sphagnum moss and kept in a humidity dome to prevent desiccation.

I kept watering them based on the schedule used for the other plants, but when I noticed their spagmoss remained wet for long periods I stopped watering and just assumed the old roots weren’t drinking and I just let them be assuming they were dormant and crossed my fingers for a new growth next spring.

Now one of those seedlings, an ivanae hybrid, is pushing a new growth… now my question is… what the hell to do? At this point I doubt it will have enough time to grow before dormancy but I could keep it on a heat mat and under light and force it into a new “summer” then keep growing that new growth all of next year and just attempt to skip this year’s dormancy.

Or would an attempt at tricking it just make it spend energy it would rather use next spring and should I just cut it off and force it into dormancy?

Finally, if I keep this new growth. When the heck do I water it! Do I let it grow roots into the medium as if it was just going through Spring?

No one responded to you? Mine just pushed up a bit if green, is this a new growth or a spike? It’s also an ivaneae from the august 2023 offering.

Treat it the same and put it to sleep by December. You'll just have a small, stunted growth.

That looks like a spike to me.
