Great colour! I recently acquired a seedling from a German vendor with the same name (my first Catasetum!) but the pictures from the vendor and orchid roots show more of a mottled/pink flower. Do you know by chance if there is a big variability in colour? I love both to be honest

Enjoy your new plant! There's lots of cultural information in this forum (and also at the Sunset Valley Orchids website). Lots of variation in color is likely, since one parent is a complex hybrid. This is very likely a seed-grown plant (so every plant is unique, unlike with mericlones) from Sunset Valley Orchids, Fred Clarke (the owner) often sells extra flasks into the marketplace. So yours will be a surprise, but it will surely be beautiful.
