Default Ctsm new growths high up on old bulbs

Spring is here, and my Clowesetum Melana's Daughter is starting to wake up. This year, along with the usual new growths coming from the base of the bulbs, there is also one older bulb producing new growths further up.

What should I do? Leave them be? Treat them as keikis? Cut that bulb and lay it down in some sphag?

I think I'd just leave it and let it do its thing. Certainly not cut anything at this point, it's in to rapid growth. Others, though may have differing opinions, my general approach to such things is benign neglect.

I agree, leave it alone and let the roots find the medium. My Mormodia is doing the same thing.

Those aren't too high up the bulbs. I'd also just leave the plant in its current container.

leave it alone- or any of the other options you stated. because of their regenerative abilities you have a lot of leeway in your handling

Any higher than that I pinch it. Sometimes, if there are multiple basal growths I will pinch one at that height too. This is my least favorite aspect of this alliance.

Thanks for the advice!! I won't do anything for now and just observe how the growths develop. I might pinch up the higher positioned of the 2 so that more energy goes to the 4-5 basal growths. The bulbs have trouble filling out well in my short and not so warm growing season here so more growths may not be so good.

I was planning on repotting into fresh media but am too late this year, I'm afraid of damaging new roots. I'll just drop it into a larger pot and fill the gaps with fresh sphag.

So I went ahead to repot it, and when I flipped the plant over to push it out of the clay pot via the drainage hole, I heard a "thunk" and then saw the old bulb with growths laying on the table....

So I potted it up and set it low enough that the new roots will reach the moss easily. I squeezed out as much moisture as possible out of the sphag. Did I do it right?

Looks good to me, but is that moss wet?
