too late to repot?
Default too late to repot?

I kept meaning to repot this Fredclarkeara hybrid, but never quite got around to it. Now that I'm ready the length of the new roots is giving me pause.

As you can see in the photos there are quite a few roots that probably won't make it into the current media. I was able to keep it wet enough last year but I'd like to get it into finer media that allows for less frequent watering. The new growth is also coming out at quite an angle so I was hoping to straighten it.

Is it crazy to repot now? I'd be putting it in small bark & pumice so maybe I can get that around the new roots with a bit of patience and gentle tapping?

I wouldnt fully repot it now, i think the roots are too far along. I would just leave it on its current situation and drop it (plastic pot and all) into another pot with new media to catch stray roots. Then you can pull it all apart and repot normally in a year or two

Ya, too late to repot. You can put a dish under the pot to water less often though.
