Also, this is a large plant with several years growth that has not bloomed before in my care. I moved it out of the warm humid tent with fixed photoperiod to a living room window in northern Colorado. Given that correlation is not causation, I’m not sure if it had an effect on blooming but it did bloom well.
That's an excellent spike of flowers--and the plant, now that I've seen the picture of you holding it and have some perspective, is much bigger than I thought it would be. Whatever you did was enough to do the trick of getting it to bloom. Congratulations.
