Mormodes are hella rad!
Default Mormodes are hella rad!

As stated above, it looks like a couple of Mormodes are going to close out my Catasetinae growing season. I have a revolutum fully in bloom with two spikes, on naked bulbs and a second one (will need to check species) that's just opening it's little yellow alien flowers. While these are not as elegant as Cycnoches or Clowesia or perhaps even as complex as Catasetum blooms, there something otherworldly avian about them- perhaps even a little sinister. I love these strange goblins.

Will post photos tomorrow when the light is better and it's not freezing outside. The walk to the greenhouse is like walking through an arctic tunnel. This clearly makes me a wimp from the tropics.

Nice! My aftermath cross aborted but my hookeri cross looks like it’s gonna make it.
