Default Receiving new seedlings in summer

As the title says, I have received two new Catasetums from Fred Clarke a few days ago. These are seedlings with new growth. Both have extensive roots on the original bulbs, but new growth with minimal roots. When they were unpacked they were very dry, being in Fred's typical densely packed sphagnum moss and peanuts. Here's the question: Should I water now or wait till the new growth roots are long enough? My gut said they could use some water, though the older bulbs weren't shriveled. I wet the moss, placed the pot in another pot with a half-inch of water in the bottom (just enough to reach the bottom of the pot), and set it up in the tent. I will be watching for results, but I'd like to hear the opinions of the catasetum growers on the board.
Thanks in advance.
