Breeding is 'SVO III' FCC/AOS × 'Mem. Pat Worthington' AM/AOS from Sunset Valley Orchids' summer 2021 release.
Fragrance is not strong. Can describe as like a chocolate-scented rubber eraser with a slight, subtle yet penetrating dark, heady floral sweetness somewhat like nobile dendrobium but to much lesser degree. Pleasant, intriguing, and mysterious, I wish it smelled stronger.
The color is copper, metallic iridescence that has lightened over the few days it has been open.
Photos I had seen of this species had my expectations pretty high and they were fully met, even surpassed. I'm really impressed with these flowers, they give me that speechless moment of awe at the infinite perfection of nature...(even though these are line bred lol)
Oh, and found out the hard way...they shoot their pollen like Catasetums.
